Princess of the Greek clan Nikaia, Zephyra, is set to be married in summer. But her fiancé has other plans. Depressed and confused, she finally gives into the handsome pack alpha, Lykaion and finds what she believes is love. But that is cut short when the son of Zeus, Eryx sets his sights on the Lykaion pack and kills their leader in cold blood, claiming Zephyra against her will. Pregnant and driven to madness with grief, Zephyra returns to the one place she believes she will find her mate, only to find he isn't there and she can't return. Unable to care for her newborn pup, Valo, she trades him to a goddess for the throne of Shadow Bay. Norse God Odin, friend of Valo's father, adopts the pup himself as a war God in his Viking army. Valo is a powerful, shape shifting, killing machine, and he proves himself in the raid and conquer of the city Kjarra. But his happiness is short lived. Odin has some hard lessons for his ward about the cruelty of humans. So once again set upon the open sea looking for the New World and a mate he has seen only in a dream.
