When twelve-year old Diego discovers ancient gods are real, he must journey into a deadly labyrinth to stop a vengeful power before it destroys the world. The mortal carries the fate of the sun. Let the words be spoken and the god undone. Diego has always enjoyed visiting the Aztec Museum with his abuelo, but he never thought Abuelo's tales of the ancient gods were real. Not until strange things start happening—birds and mice attacking as if possessed, shadowy figures lurking outside their apartment building, and the family dog speaking to Diego in a human voice to warn him of danger. Legend tells that the great god Quetzal trapped his rival, Tezca, in a labyrinth to shield humanity from his destructive power. But now, centuries later, he is breaking free, and Quetzal is nowhere to be found. It's up to Diego and his friends Violeta and Cholo to journey into the labyrinth and stop Tezca before all is lost.
